Stepping into the "New Era of Intelligent Construction", China Construction Eighth Engineering Division. Corp. LTD self-developed rebar-tying robot 1.0 is completed


On June 29, 2022, RBBD-Bot 1.0, jointly developed by the Engineering Research Institute of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division and the Engineering Research Institute of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Second Construction Co. to explore the feasibility of a new type of intelligent rebar tying scenario.

Rebar tying plays the role of fixing the rebar in the process of pouring concrete and ensuring the position of the rebar in the concrete as well as its protective layer, and at present, rebar tying mainly relies on manual operation during construction.

The rebar tying robot has the characteristics of miniaturization and intelligence, and consists of robot walking mechanism, automatic tying system, control system, power system and APP mobile terminal, etc. The robot has the functions of moving forward, backward and traverse on the horizontal rebar net at the construction site, and is suitable for tying Φ8mm~20mm horizontal rebar mesh. Combining advanced technologies such as 5G communication technology, modern intelligent sensing technology and image recognition algorithm, the robot can automatically tie the reinforcing steel mesh and identify the tying status automatically. The development of this equipment verifies the feasibility of mechanized and automated tying process of horizontal reinforcing steel mesh. This rebar tying robot is a new construction equipment integrating mechatronics technology, intelligent sensing technology, Internet of Things technology, automatic control technology and other technologies in one.

The equipment is small and flexible, simple operation method, good tying effect, reduce labor intensity, save labor, help solve the problem of shortage of steel tying personnel in the current construction process.

Bureau Engineering Research Institute of Building Structure and Disaster Prevention takes the whole process scenario of housing construction as the object, and works closely with each secondary unit to develop a group of building construction robots and equipment for the whole process of each sub-project to help intelligent construction and promote the transformation and upgrading of construction production.

Project Profile.

The real estate development project (Phase II) of Lot 12 of Jinan Olympic Sports East constructed by China Construction Eighth Engineering Division. Corp. LTD. has a construction site area of 53,000 square meters and a total construction area of about 421,000 square meters, with a total above-ground construction area of about 298,000 square meters and a total underground construction area of about 123,000 square meters. Among them, Lot 12 Phase II C#, D#, E# towers and their basement parts, with a total construction area of about 255,000 square meters, a total above-ground construction area of about 189,000 square meters and a total underground construction area of about 66,000 square meters. It consists of three high-rise towers C#, D# and E# and the podium. The main function of the podium is a large commercial complex, and its basement is a supporting underground garage and equipment rooms and other facilities. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
